Cleaning Carpet Squares vs. Carpets

There is an important tradeoff in cleaning carpet squares rather than carpets. On the one hand, a carpet tile is easier to clean than a tufted surface because the former has an impermeable backing. This feature helps prevent a spilled liquid from seeping through the entire depth of the tile. On the other hand, a spill on a carpet tile spreads out more easily horizontally, so there is a greater surface area to address.
